Principal’s Message
Dear Hickory Tree Families,
It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to a brand-new school year at Hickory Tree Elementary, where every Hawk is valued, empowered, and inspired to soar! As we celebrate over four decades of educational excellence and tradition, our commitment to student growth, academic achievement, and a positive, inclusive school culture has never been stronger.
This year, we are embracing the theme: H•A•W•K•S – “The One Where We Become an A,” inspired by the spirit of teamwork and perseverance, that remind us of the joy and strength found in unity.
Our focus this year is clear:
✅ Achieve academic excellence through rigorous, standards-based instruction
✅ Support the whole child by nurturing growth and positive behavior
✅ Strengthen collaboration between families, staff, and community partners
✅ Close achievement gaps and celebrate all student progress, especially within our lowest quartile
The first quarter is always a time of reconnection, goal setting, and establishing strong routines. I am incredibly proud of our teachers and staff for their dedication to making sure every student feels seen, safe, and supported. To our families, thank you for your continued partnership. Your involvement plays a vital role in our success. Whether you’re cheering us on from home, supporting with homework, or joining us for events, know that you are an essential part of the Hickory Tree community.
As we move through this first quarter, we remain focused on building strong foundations in literacy and mathematics, promoting a culture of kindness and accountability, and setting each student on a path toward academic success.
