PTA (Parent Teacher Association) & SAC (School Advisory Council)
WHAT IS PTA?
Parent-Teacher Association is a national membership organization made up of parents, teachers, school administrators, and community leaders. PTA members help better our school community in multiple ways. We help in the beautification of our school, do fundraising for school needs, coordinate social festivities, and do staff appreciation events. Parents who would love to volunteer and/or become more involved, this is your opportunity.
We hope that you will consider joining us at our upcoming meetings and future school events.

WHAT IS SAC?
What is SAC? SAC is the School Advisory Council which is a team of people representing segments of the community including parents,teachers, administrators, support personnel, business, and other interested community members.
The purpose of SAC is to assist in the preparation, developing, and evaluation of the annual school improvement plan and to assist the principal with the school budget.
Funding for the School Advisory Council should be used to implement the School Improvement Plan based on measurable performance indicators.
The Council is empowered to truly impact the educational experience at Hickory Tree Elementary School.
Please join a SAC meeting this year. The meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm in the Hickory Tree media center.
