Principal’s Message: Quarter 2 | Full Speed Ahead: Excellence Has No Finish Line!
Dear Hickory Tree Families,
As we begin the second quarter, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible start to our school year and express my sincere gratitude to our students, staff, and families. The first quarter was filled with learning, growth, celebrations, and countless moments that remind me why Hickory Tree Elementary is such a special place.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work happening in our classrooms each day. Our teachers and staff continue to go above and beyond to provide engaging, meaningful, and rigorous learning experiences while creating an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
As we move into Quarter 2, our focus remains on academic growth, student ownership, and continuous improvement. Students are learning to understand their progress, set meaningful goals, and take pride in their accomplishments. We know that success doesn’t happen by chance. It comes from high expectations, intentional instruction, consistent effort, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for every child.
Equally important is the strong partnership we share with our families. Your encouragement, involvement, and support make an incredible difference. Whether you are attending school events, communicating with teachers, supporting learning at home, or simply ensuring your child arrives ready to learn each day, you are an essential part of our success.
As your principal, I couldn’t be prouder of the school community we continue to build together. Our accomplishments are a reflection of the dedication of our amazing staff, the determination of our students, and the unwavering support of our families.
We have so much to celebrate, but we also know there is always room to grow. As we continue through this second quarter, we will keep our expectations high, celebrate every milestone, and work together to ensure that every Hawk learns, grows, and succeeds.

As a Choice District, we allow parents to select the school they want their children to attend, as long as that school has capacity and program availability.
Each one of our public schools has a full-time sworn law enforcement officer serving as a School Resource Officer on campus every day.
Our students have highly-qualified, certified teachers who provide engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction.
We offer a rigorous curriculum and systems of support, complete with college preparatory and career and technical education paths to meet the needs of every student
Students have the opportunity to take high school credit courses in middle school and to earn college/postsecondary credit at no cost to parents while still in high school.
We offer courses that allow students to explore career interests, master workplace competencies, gain employable skills, and earn industry certifications and licensing upon graduation
