Hawk Families,

What another AMAZING week at Hickory Tree! As we walked classrooms this week, we could not have been prouder of the learning taking place across our campus. We saw students engaged in rigorous discussions, solving challenging problems, participating in hands-on science investigations, working in purposeful small groups, and—most importantly—beginning to truly take ownership of their learning.

From our youngest Hawks building strong reading foundations to our older students tracking their data, setting goals, explaining their thinking, and persevering through challenges, our students and teachers continue to raise the bar!

Parents, thank YOU for being our partners in this work. The conversations you have at home, the encouragement you provide, and your commitment to getting your children to school each day ready to learn make a tremendous difference. It truly takes all of us working together to help every Hawk SOAR!

We have a short four-day student week ahead, but we are ready to make every minute count! Thank you for continuing to support our teachers, encourage our students, prioritize attendance, and partner with us.

There is something special happening at Hickory Tree, and our families are a huge part of it.

Thank you for helping us make this a successful Book Fair and ensuring that your child has money on their account to shop. 

This Tuesday, we are asking our entire Hawk family to WEAR YELLOW for Pediatric Cancer Awareness as we rally around one of our very own Hawks who is courageously fighting his own battle.

Let’s turn Hickory Tree YELLOW from head to toe! 💛 Shirts, socks, bows, hats, shoes—let’s fill our campus with yellow and surround this Hawk and his family with all the love and support our school community can give.

This is about so much more than wearing a color. It’s about reminding one of our own that he does not fight alone. His Hawk family is right here beside him.

For families who are able and would like to provide additional support, we are also accepting the donations/items shared in our social media post for our student and his family. Every contribution, big or small, is appreciated, but absolutely never expected.

Let’s show everyone what happens when a Hawk needs us: we stick together, we lift each other up, and we SOAR together. 💛🦅

We are excited to celebrate our first Hawk of the Month Ceremony this Thursday at 8:45 AM in the cafeteria!

If your child was selected and you received an invitation, please remember to pre-register before the ceremony.

We have implemented new visitor check-in equipment and procedures for our ceremonies to continue elevating safety and security on our campus. We appreciate your patience as we use this new process for the first time.

We cannot wait to welcome you and celebrate our SOARING Hawks! 🦅🌟
