Odyssey of the Mind

A group of children and adults pose for a photo, wearing matching shirts and hats.

Odyssey of the Mind is a team of 7 students who think outside the box to solve real world problems! Students pick a problem/ scenario and create a skit in which they work to solve the problem. The team gets to decide their characters, plot, write and act out their skit, create all their costumes, backdrops, props etc. They perform in front of a group of judges striving to earn the most points! Then there is the spontaneous round, where the team has no idea what task they will have to complete. It could be hands on, verbal or verbal and hands on. This past year, we had two teams compete at Regionals. Our problem 1 team placed 1st overall and our problem 3 team placed 3rd overall with both teams advancing to the state competition. At the state competition, the problem 1 team placed 2nd overall and advanced to the World competition at Michigan State University. The team placed 20th overall in their designated problem!!!! We look forward to another amazing year of Odyssey of the Mind during the 25-26 school year.
