A Message from Administration

Dear Hickory Tree Families,

We are officially in the final stretch of the school year, and what an incredible journey it has been so far! As we move through the fourth quarter and head into testing season, our focus is stronger than ever—making every minute count, supporting every student, and finishing the year with our highest levels of growth yet.

Right now, your partnership is more important than ever. You can support your child by:
  • Ensuring daily attendance and on-time arrival
  • Encouraging focus and effort every single day
  • Talking with your child about their academic goals
  • Staying in communication with your child’s teacher
  • Using school resources at home (like Progress Learning, reading daily, and practicing math skills)

When students know their goals and understand what they are working toward, we see incredible results. Our students showed amazing growth during PM2—and now we are ready to shine even brighter for PM3!
We are so close to the finish line, and every day matters. With your support, we know our students will continue to grow, achieve, and soar to new heights.

Let’s make these last weeks the strongest yet....together! Hickory Tree is the best place to be because of YOU
Let’s work together to ensure every Hawk finishes strong! 🦅

With gratitude,
Ms. Miller and Ms. Vargas

PM3 Testing Information and Incentives

PM3 - Important Testing Information

State testing (PM3) is right around the corner, and this is an important opportunity for students to show all they have learned this year.

Key Reminders:
  • Please ensure your child is present on testing days unless they are truly sick
  • Students perform best when testing with their teacher and classmates
  • If your child must be absent, please communicate with the teacher ahead of time

If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home—we want them to feel their best when testing.

At Home Conversations Matter!
Ask your child:
  • What is your PM3 goal?
  • How many points do you need to meet your goal?
  • What level are you aiming for in reading, math, and (for 5th grade) science?
  • What are you doing to reach that goal?

These conversations help students take ownership and build confidence. Together, we can help every student succeed!
