A Message from Administration

Dear Hickory Tree Families,

What an incredible week at HTES! Thank you for making Penny Wars such a huge success! 🪙 Congratulations to our 3rd grade Hawks—our overall champions! 🏆 A huge shout-out goes to our amazing PTA volunteers, who were here every morning collecting donations in the courtyard and then spent hours counting all those coins. We truly appreciate your time, dedication, and love for our school community.

We also want to thank our families for helping our students shine bright during College & Career Dress Down Week! 🌟 From creative outfits to inspiring career looks, our students proudly showcased their future readiness in style.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled about the many Positive Behavior Incentive (PBI) events planned this year! Students can earn Talon Tickets by consistently following school-wide expectations. Here’s what’s coming up:

  • 🎤 Lunch-Time Talent Show → End of September (25 Talon Tickets)
  • 🕷️ Fear Factor: HTES Edition → October (25 Talon Tickets)
  • 🎉 Monthly reward events all year long (always 25 Talon Tickets!)
  • 🌟 Extra experiences for purchase with tickets: saying the Pledge on the announcements, eating lunch outside with a friend, being “Principal/Assistant Principal for the Day,” and more!

Encourage your Hawk to earn, save, and use their Talon Tickets for an amazing year of recognition and fun. Hawks SOAR, and we can’t wait to celebrate their success!

Thank you, families, for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!

With gratitude,
Ms. Miller and Ms. Vargas

🌟 SPOTLIGHT ON LEARNING: 5th Grade🌟
This week we are shining a spotlight on our amazing 5th grade Hawks!
Our fifth-grade teachers delivered engaging and rigorous learning experiences, and students rose to the challenge with focus, positivity, determination.

Students showed outstanding behavior, worked hard, and represented Hickory Tree with pride. They are already taking ownership of their learning, studying, participating, and pushing themselves to do their very best.

This is only the beginning of what promises to be their best year yet! We cannot wait to see all they will accomplish as they work this year to prepare to soar into middle school.

Way to go, 5th grade Hawks! 🦅
